The Origin
Started as Atelier Eau Rouge in 2017 and rebranded to Angels in Machines in 2025. We make garments that carry stories from automotive history.
Founder Karl Aleksander: "Our mission is to create clothes that you can cherish and wear for a long time. Each piece is part of a story and they are almost like little works of art. Since being a teenager I've been fascinated about motorsports and developed a passion for the automotive world. I have since read and written about rallying and Formula 1 to street racing and the infamous Mid Night Racing Team in Japan.
Cars paint a big picture inside culture. They are not just practical, chunks of cold steel, but they speak to our soul and make us passionate about life. We have video games (Need for Speed <3), movies and events about cars and I want to share this passion through clothes and art.
Wearing clothes that are made with great materials and are part of a well-defined brand or are otherwise historic is a great feeling. It adds a lot to the whole experience of putting together an outfit. This is something all Angels in Machines products share.
When we launched Atelier Eau Rouge, the name came from Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps and the eau rouge corner. "Atelier" to signify craftsmanship that inspires the brand to this date. My bedroom became the office and warehouse. I designed clothes and packed orders before and after school. Working on the brand and the feedback from people who loved the clothes inspired me to work hard and pursue the dream of building great products. Thank you for everyone who has supported the brand over the years."
